Blogger Help

If you are new to Blogger, it's pretty easy but here are some basic instructions to get you started. This is your Blogger Dashboard (well, it's mine but yours will look like this.) From the Dashboard you can create a new post to appear on our Home Page or you can add info or photos to one of the tabbed pages by clicking one of the circled tabs:

The next screen will allow you to edit an existing post on the home page (for example, if I left out info from the meeting or you want to add a date to the list of upcoming events), create a new post to the home page (this will not delete the previous post, just move it down the page), or edit one of the tabbed pages. I have created tabs for each den as well as one just for our photos. You guys put your pics wherever you like- your den page or the photo page. Here is what this page looks like:

If you click "Edit Pages" (top right circled label) it will pull up each tabbed page. Just click the one you would like to add your photo or den information to. I chose the "Intro to Blogger" page as my example. Here is what it looks like:

The next screen will be the page you want to alter. Unlike the Home Page, the tabbed pages are static. That means that you can add to them or alter the text but it does not archive individual dated entries for the page. You can't enter a "new" post but you can add or change whatever you want to appear on the page. Note that what was on the page when I took the screen shot is not what appears now:

I've circled the toolbar. It defaults to text so you can start typing whatever you want. The three icons that start with "link" allow you to insert a link, a photo, or a video respectively. It's pretty intuitive. I've also circled the tab that says "compose". You can add stuff either in the compose mode or the Edit HTML mode but unless you are way tech-ier than I am you'll be a lot more comfortable in compose.

Have fun!
